    QUOTES

    - Stereo Sanctity
    - The Wonder
    [Venom tape plays]
T: "Okay. That's a tape of Venom opening up for Black Flag at City Gardens about three years ago. I didn't make that gig but I heard it was pretty...pretty hellacious. What? What? [crowd: "can I get a copy of that tape?"] Copy? Yeah! You can have this one. We're gonna do some new songs, we have a new record coming out, it's called Goo. That's G-O-O. It's the name of some chick that hangs out at CBGB, I don't know if you know her but her name is Goo. We had to name our album after her. [crowd: "when's it coming out?"] May. Maybe. It's kinda corporate. Kinda...kinda haven't. We played these songs for the first time last night. With Fugazi at...in DC. And they all systematically fell apart. [?] This song is called 'Cinderella's Big Score'."
    - Cinderella's Big Score
    [Venom tape plays]
L: "Thurston, are you gonna turn up?"
    T: "What?"
L: "Are you gonna turn up?"
T: "Am I gonna turn up? You can't hear me on your side of the stage? [lee is playing chords] What's that? New tune?"
    L: "'Dirty Boots'"
    T: "What?"
L: "That's 'Dirty Boots', the next song!"
T: "This song is called 'Dirty Boots'. You know, it's about this new law that's being passed, you're not allowed to wear jackboots inside punk rock clubs anymore. I don't know how you feel about that, but I'm ready to fight it, myself."
    - Dirty Boots
T: "Uh, I broke a guitar string, we gotta change the set around. Radically. Unless you wanna wait!"
    [Venom tape plays]
T: "This next song is called 'Mote'. M-O-T-E."
L: "Yeah, this is my song, this is called 'The Eye-mote'."
    T: "Ready? Oh Wait."
L: "We played it last night. Not too well."
    - Mote
T: "This next song is called 'Titanium Exposé'. Yeah. This song was titled by J Mascis in November 1989 at Waterworks studio on West 14th street. The meat packing district. Just happened to be watching TV one day. That's it! That's..[laughs]"
    - Titanium Exposé
T: "Thank you. Alright, we're gonna do - we're gonna do an oldie. Play what? [crowd: "louder!"] [??] play louder, we could play you Cher's new single if you want?"
["If I Could Turn Back Time" by Cher plays]
    - Catholic Block
T: "Okay, I hate to tell you this but we got - we got another new song. It's called 'Mary-Christ'. No. But you know, Jesus' parents, they were like Joseph and Mary Christ. This is about his mom, Mary. Christ of Nazarene. This song used to be called 'I Am Animal...the Fuck-Priest'."
    L: "Steve starts it."
    - Mary-Christ
    - Kool Thing
T: "Thanks. [lots of indistinct chatter] Mountain Goo? Seriously, the record is, it's called 'Goo'. This song is called 'Across the Breeze'"
    - 'Cross the Breeze
    K: "Thank you."
    L: "One more."
T: "What? Bloodrock? Hey, we'd like to thank STP and Surgery for playing tonight."
    - White Kross [w. extended noise outro]
    L: "Thanks a lot."
    [encore break]
L: [crowd is shouting tons of requests] "So many wonderful songs we don't know how to play anymore, friends. All the ones you're calling out for. We know the ones we're playing, I guess."
K: "Wharton, I'm gonna use this, cuz I can't hear the guitar over there. This song is called, uh, 'My Friend Goo'."
T: [thurston starts bass riff and stops] "How's it go?" [kim and lee play riff for him]
    L: "You're fucked up man!"
    - My Friend Goo
[thurston jams bass riff from "the good and the bad"]
L: "Man, I don't even remember what song that is anymore! [laughs]"
T: "One more song and then we're gonna go blow. If you know what I mean. [crowd still shouting requests] What? I'd love to do that song. 'Death Valley'. Steve won't do it. [laughs]"
[lee briefly teases "starpower" in response to requests]
K: "There's only a limited amount of songs that we remember how to play!"
T: "This song is called 'Silver Rocket'."
    - Silver Rocket
